I was lucky enough to shoot interviews with the principal cast and crew of Finestkind, for their electronic press kit. The movie’s about New Bedford fishermen, and has an insane level of talent. We found a backdrop reminiscent of a Turner painting, and I gave it even more of an oceanic feel by bouncing light off a pan of water to create ripples in the background. Of course, it had to look organic, so I employed one of our PA’s as a full-time “Water Troubler.” He did a great job changing up the ripples while keeping it subtle. Check out a sample below.
